Kid Rock made headlines over the weekend after abruptly walking off stage at Jon Bon Jovi’s Nashville bar. The rockstar, who was celebrating Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan’s birthday, appeared frustrated with the crowd’s lack of enthusiasm.
Kid Rock’s Unexpected Exit
On February 8, Kid Rock took the stage to perform Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Initially, the crowd greeted him with cheers, but things quickly took a turn when he noticed they weren’t clapping along.
According to a fan video shared on TikTok, Kid Rock stopped mid-song to call out the audience.
“F— them. F— them. Hey, hey, stop. If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go,” he said, even demonstrating the clapping rhythm he expected.
The crowd complied and started clapping, and Kid Rock resumed singing. However, about a minute later, he stopped again and stormed off, saying:
“You know what, f— y’all. You ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone.”
David Bryan, who was seen on stage looking puzzled, continued his birthday celebration despite the dramatic exit. The following day, Bryan shared a video on Instagram thanking fans for their birthday wishes and highlighting the night’s performances.
Kid Rock’s Political History & Performances
Kid Rock is no stranger to controversy. His last major public performance was at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally for former President Donald Trump’s inauguration. He also performed at the Republican National Convention in 2020, where he remixed his 2000 hit American Bad A– with Trump references.
During that event, he led chants of “Fight, fight!” and “Trump, Trump!” before introducing UFC CEO Dana White, who spoke just before Trump took the stage.
Trump himself acknowledged Kid Rock’s support, stating:
“He became a friend of mine over the last ten years, and he’s amazing. Everyone loves him. I didn’t even know how big he was.”
