Post Malone is set to honor the legendary rock band Nirvana with a special vinyl release for Record Store Day 2025. The singer, who has been named this year’s Record Store Day ambassador, will release a tribute album featuring covers of Nirvana’s iconic tracks.
A Tribute to Nirvana with Travis Barker
The 14-track album, titled Post Malone Tribute to Nirvana, is a live recording from his 2020 performance at his Salt Lake City home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The original session was a YouTube livestream that raised funds for the UN Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, supporting the World Health Organization.
The tribute album features Post Malone on vocals and guitar, with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, bassist Brian Lee, and guitarist Nick Mac accompanying him. Fans can expect covers of Nirvana classics such as Come as You Are, Lounge Act, On a Plane, and Heart-Shaped Box.
Proceeds to Support Mental Health and Addiction Recovery
In keeping with the charitable spirit of the original livestream, profits from the tribute album will be donated to MusiCares’ Addiction Recovery and Mental Health division, supporting musicians in need.
Post Malone’s Passion for Vinyl
As the 2025 Record Store Day ambassador, Post Malone expressed his enthusiasm for vinyl culture and independent record shops.
“What an honor, I can’t believe I was chosen to be Record Store Day’s Ambassador for 2025,” he said. “We love hitting local shops when we’re on the road, seeing all the crazy artwork. The whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring.”

Collaboration with Taylor Swift
In addition to his Nirvana tribute album, Post Malone will also be featured on Taylor Swift’s special edition 7-inch vinyl single Fortnight. Swift, who served as the Record Store Day ambassador in 2022, is releasing this exclusive vinyl alongside other special Record Store Day releases.
Record Store Day 2025
Record Store Day is an annual event celebrating independent record shops with exclusive vinyl releases and in-store events. This year’s event, featuring Post Malone’s Nirvana tribute album, is set to take place in April 2025.
